Ivy HollivanaMultimedia Artist Ivy Hollivana has always been motivated, developing herself as a singer at the age of 12. A classically-trained soprano, Ivy Hollivana's ethereal, operatic vocal style collides with glimmering electronic production. The D.I.Y mentality of Ivy's pop rings true with audiences, most recently with her successful album "Loverdiamond" and her consistent Patreon fanbase. When she isn't doing album production, remixes, or vocal features musicians, she's creating art assets for collaborators and clients alike.S3 // Ep 3 // Track 9

Andrew AndersonMy favourite thing about making music is collaboration. So a few years ago I decided to make an album where I’d write and record each track with a different person. The only rule was that we had to co-write and co-record the entire song – no one else could play on the track. It took a while to bring it all together, but here it is: Be My Guest. Each song came together in a different way, from jointly scribbled lyrics and singing together in a bedroom to emailing separate parts back and forth across continents. Thanks to the fourteen people that took part – you’re all excellent, and my favourite track from the album changes daily. Any money we make from Be My Guest will be split between two charities: Booth Centre, Manchester, which supports people coping with homelessness in Manchester; and Black Lives Matter UK, a coalition of black activists and organizers across the UK.S3 // Ep. 4 // Track 8

Lauren BousfieldComposer and electronics mastermind Lauren Bousfield has always displayed a virtuouso flare while ecstatically flying by our ears at lightning speed, seemingly from 10 directions at once. On her latest album, she brings a new found expertise in orchestral arranging from her other work as a cinema composer, and puts vocals to the front. Much like her finger blurring piano playing, these vocals seem to be passing us by at the speed of light. We know they're there, but they dance around us rather than beat straight into our bodies. Our souls feel these songs, not just our hips.S3 // Ep. 4 // Track 7

Titan to TachyonsNew York City-based avant/instrumental metal trio TITAN TO TACHYONS presents their debut album, Cactides, through Nefarious Industries.
Newly formed TITAN TO TACHYONS is led by guitarist Sally Gates (ex-Orbweaver, ex-Gigan), backed by the powerhouse rhythm section of Kenny Grohowski (Secret Chiefs 3, Imperial Triumphant, Brand X) and Matt Hollenberg (Cleric, John Zorn). Instrumentally depicting the realms of surrealistic sci-fi, the band makes use of angular and experimental passages, juxtaposed by fluid grooves and metallic flurries.S3 // Ep. 4 // Track 6 -

Gordon KoangMusic in Exile is proud to present Kone Ke Ran, the third single from Gordon Koang’s forthcoming album, Unity. Kone Ke Ran is Gordon’s musical offering to thank an aid worker and counsellor who was working with a UN organization in a refugee camp. “I love him, he’s a very good man. When he talks to the people, I hear his voice and he talks to the people in a good way.” Singing in Nuer, Gordon thanks this man for his wisdom, kindness and help. In true Gordon style, positivity shines throughout this track! He reminds us that we are all connected by our humanness and we can make the world a more caring place by helping each other. The underlying connection throughout all of us is love!S3 // Ep. 4 // Track 4

Mamie MinchMamie Minch is a longtime staple of New York’s acoustic blues scene. Listening to her sing and play is like unpacking a time capsule of American music that’s been stored in her 1930’s National steel guitar for decades and filtered with a modern femme sensitivity. Her newest release, a collaboration with drummer Dean Sharenow called Slow Burn, sees her traditional influences stretch out, turn up, and get deeper, groovier, funkier. She spends her days restoring guitars as half of Brooklyn Lutherie, the only woman owned instrument repair shop in New York City.S3 // Ep. 4 // Track 3

Pure Bathing CulturePure Bathing Culture’s new EP Carrido is out on Infinite Companion today, the two-year anniversary of Richard Swift’s death. Pure Bathing Culture’s Sarah Versprille and Daniel Hindman shared a connection to Swift beyond friendship; the band credit him as “a catalyst for the last decade of our lives, spent creating music as Pure Bathing Culture.” He was an essential proponent of the band and recorded both their self-titled EP and debut album. Because of this profound tie, Swift’s wife Shealynn invited Pure Bathing Culture to be the first to return and record at National Freedom, two months after the beloved musician, producer, and muse passed. Swift’s ashes lovingly placed at the console, Pure Bathing Culture recorded four songs over four days, doing what they do best: transforming ever-present energies and unseen magic into a sonic experience. Carrido contains three brand new Pure Bathing Culture originals and a rendition of Swift’s “Would You?,” selected as an emanation of his outright love for his family.S3 // Ep. 3 // Track 10

Efy HecksEfy Hecks is a project created by Vincent Lemay in the small suburb of Sainte-Thérèse in 2014. Inspired by the bedroom pop movement, he produced the recording all by himself in the comfort of his room. Many members joined him in the following years to bring those compositions onto the Montreal scene. Their sound is often described as psychedelic rock, soft rock and even sometimes jazz. In 2020, after releasing only anglophones compositions, they’re taking a new road and will from now sing in their native language under the wings of the new Quebecker label Bonbonbon.
Their two new songs ‘’Tu s’ras pas là’’ and ‘’Aujourd’hui’’ will project you into the universe of Efy Hecks without a doubt. These two songs who were composed while recording their latest album are now coming out with a brand-new sound and a new ‘’francophone’’ voice. Vintage organs and synthesizer, clarinet, acoustics, and fuzzy electric guitars will all be there for you to dive into the mysterious world of theses two concept singles.S3 // Ep. 3 // Track 8 -
Cinder WellCinder Well is at the vanguard of a different kind of transatlantic folk revival, one forged amidst the uncertainty of a global pandemic. However, Irish-based songwriter Amelia Baker’s music isn’t nihilistic; instead, it strips traditional forms to their bones, creating a meditative, trance-like space for sonic healing. The sparse soundscapes and haunting stillnesses of her new album No Summer (coming July 24 on Free Dirt Records) are not meant to be paens to loneliness. Rather, Baker was inspired by the rich musical connectivity of the pub scene in Ireland, and her move from California to County Clare to study traditional music of the region. A member of anarchist folk project Blackbird Raum, Baker’s time on the circuit with Irish trad-punk group Lankum eventually led her to a small settlement in County Clare, and to the rich dissonance of her music as Cinder Well, a dissonance caught between worlds and histories. Recorded by Nich Wilbur (Black Belt Eagle Scout, Angel Olsen), the original songs on No Summer boldly rub shoulders with careful reworkings of traditional Appalachian sources. Baker’s songs parse these transatlantic traditions, and throughout, her remarkable voice cuts to the bone like some ghostly ballad singer bound to sing these words from here to eternity. From the eerily prophetic title track—which presaged a season of canceled shows—to “Our Lady’s”’s imagined stories of spectral abandoned asylum residents, No Summer is as haunting as it is connected, as dark as it is sacred, a kind of ritual healing that’s existed through the ages.S3 // Ep. 3 // Track 7

ThibaultThibault is the long-awaited new project for Melbourne musician Nicole Thibault. Her drily-titled debut album Or Not Thibault is full of harmonic invention, unexpected arrangements, and atmospheres so lush they make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. It moves seamlessly from humour to genuine pathos, from spacious mystery to kinetic energy.
Nicole’s former band Minimum Chips were a cornerstone of Chapter Music’s fabled 90s roster. For a decade or so, Minimum Chips played Moog-driven motorik pop that made them support band of choice for touring artists like Stereolab, Pavement, Bikini Kill and Le Tigre. Nicole’s vocals, trombone, keyboards and songwriting helped grow a cult mystique around Min Chips that persists to this day.
Nicole took time off in the late 00s to raise a family, but recently returned to music with the support of a new generation of Melbourne pop kids. Or Not Thibault includes contributions from Zak Olsen (Orb, Traffik Island), Rebecca Liston (Parsnip), Lachlan Denton (The Ocean Party) as well as Minimum Chips co-conspirator Julian Patterson. The live Thibault band currently features Zak, Rebecca and Stella Rennex (Parsnip).S3 // Ep. 2 // Track 3 -

TV FaceThe band called TV FACE are a DIY, post-punk trio from Lancaster, UK. Formed in early 2019 they are sTeVe (vocals/guitar), Brigit (bass/vocals) and Neil (drums). They write angular musical missives about things like potato salad and urban planning.
The band called TV FACE are called TV FACE because sTeVe has a childhood memory of finding a smashed-up TV on a military firing range in Scotland and being blown away by seeing its insides. He’s been obsessed with TVs and other electrical doodahs ever since. And because Brigit loves putting her face in front of the TV instead of looking directly at the world outside. And because none of them have faces for TV.
The band called TV FACE embarked on a project to release a single on the last Friday of every month during 2020. All tracks are recorded and produced by the band, in a variety of locations, including cellars, bedrooms and cupboards under the stairs.S3 // Ep. 2 // Track 1 -

Ronnie LuxeRonnie Luxe is a dynamic singer/songwriter from Richmond, Virginia. In an era of music where the “soul” component of the R&B genre has become widely less prominent, Ronnie is committed to not only restoring, but also magnifying an authenticity of soul that R&B in today’s climate is lacking. While she’s been singing for the overwhelming majority of her life, Ronnie took her time in finding the lane she wanted to operate in, as a musician. While in college, Ronnie was a popular member of the Ebony Impact Gospel Choir before branching off and locking in on her career as a solo artist. A Fusilier song is: polyrhythms, precise yet opaque lyrics, indie-rock guitar riffs, classical motifs and sometimes-soaring-sometimes-crooning melodies which merge into what has been called “experimental alt-R&B”.S3 // Ep. 1 // Track 7

IXNAKnotpop is a revelatory lost album of deviant new wave from San Fransisco duo IXNA. Like Brian Eno and The Flying Lizards, the album is a sideways and inverted take on pop music. Jay Cloidt and Marina La Palma were students of David Behrman and Robert Ashley at Mills College, inspired by their infamously irreverent faculty to nudge the avant-garde out of its stuffy tweed and into something more exciting, something clad in denim & leather. Recorded at the Center For Contemporary Music at Mills in 1981, the album combines Cloidt's studio wizardry, sampling abilities and vibrant bass with La Palma’s expressive vocals, and love of made-up and invented languages (Esperanto). IXNA only released one 7" during that time, featuring two songs from this unrealized album, which became sought after over the decades. The discovery of Knotpop will feel like manna from heaven for previous fans, and a welcome addition to the cannon of avant-inverted-pop ur-classics by Suicide, impLOG, Naffi, General Strike, Thick Pigeon and UnknownMix. Concentric Circles is honored to present Knotpop to the world for the first time. Mastered from the original reels.S2 // Ep. 10 // Track 11
